The price you pay for comparing yourself
The price you pay for comparing yourself to online facades is unending distraction.
Imagine this…
You feel solid in the race of life, but now the crowd behind you is catching up. You can thank content filters, AI tools, wealthy information, and makeup transformations. The mediocre people now have vehicles to advance therefore closing the gap when no one was ever behind you.
Try to be more focused. Because you wouldn’t believe what’s behind it.
Millennial entrepreneur example
I’ve seen “successful” entrepreneurs have three roommates, eat Top Ramen, and never sleep because something has to give which is housing and health.
Rags to riches babe example
There’s the toothless homeless looking lady who transforms herself into the nightclub babe after watching makeup tutorials and using partial dentures.
Is it fair? No.
Is it reality? Yes.
Behind the online facade can be ugly or broken
Smart people will see through them in time. I desire to remain authentic and balanced without the need for these tactics.
I’m proud of what’s behind my curtain whether an immaculate home that I created, clearly defined boundaries and a sanity baseline, well respected professional roles, healthy diet, abundant sleep - and I even have all my teeth (thank God).
Make 2024 the year you focus on your own successful race.
